The top five stories on the site will mirror the stories on USA’s homepage.  The first of those will be the Spotlight story on the homepage. Think of this story as the feature story of a magazine.  It is a spot reserved for stories that are of particular importance and have an extended “shelf life.”

Below that are four other feature stories that will rotate off the page more frequently, followed by several other news items of interest. All stories can be accessed from the archive after they move off the ƵNews page, and the archive can be searched using the search bar along the bottom right side of the page.

ƵNews marks a shift away from the traditional news releases posted on the previous Ƶwebsite. One immediate and central difference is the ability to easily share stories, either via email or through social media platforms, by tapping the share icons at the top of each story. We encourage you to share stories that you like or think best illustrate USA’s commitment to the Gulf Coast region.

Social Media Integration allows the user to share stories via facebook, twitter, linkedin, and pinterest or email.

Readers can access USA’s Facebook site using the link at the bottom of the page, or by going to . Stories from the ƵNews site will be posted to the Facebook site, along with other features.

This is a dynamic site that depends on the engagement of Ƶstudents, faculty, staff and alumni.  Please let us know what stories you think should be featured on the USA News site.  Use the "Pitch Your Story" link at the bottom of the page to share your story idea.

Also, feel free to send us suggestions for the site or feedback on how we’re doing to pubrel@southalabama.edu
