Lance Crawford Named ƵDirector of Media Relations

After a longtime career in broadcast television as a news and sports anchor, Lance Crawford has been named director of media relations for the Ƶ.
Crawford will be responsible for frontline media relations, and will be the University’s primary spokesperson for media inquiries and announcements.
Crawford’s career in broadcast journalism spans more than 25 years, with 20 of those in the Mobile market and the last 10 at WPMI NBC 15 as a sports director and weekend anchor. His career in Mobile also includes positions with WALA Fox 10 and at the CBS affiliate, WKRG-TV 5. Crawford spent eight years as a broadcast reporter in Philadelphia.
“I am excited and appreciative about this opportunity to join the University of South Alabama,” Crawford said. “I look forward to bringing my many years of experience and energy to the Ƶteam.”
Crawford is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. He’s also active in the community, volunteering with numerous organizations.
